Wreaths Across America Flyer

December 16, 2017

Thank you to all who sponsored a wreath this year!

Attend the Ceremony and Wreath Laying!

Local volunteers and the Wyckoff Area Garden Club have ensured that the 225 veterans
laid to rest at the Wyckoff Reformed Church Cemetery will be honored in December on
National Wreaths Across America Day.

The wreaths will be laid at 10 am on Saturday, December 16, 2017.

The ceremony will take place at Advent Lutheran Church,
777 Wyckoff Ave. at noon.

Both venues are open to the public and will be held simultaneously
at more than 1,000 locations across the country.

A live balsam fir wreath at the headstone of every veteran buried there and
announce each person’s name, to honor their memory.

“Each and every wreath is a gift from an appreciative person or family who knows
the meaning of serving and sacrificing for the freedoms we all enjoy,” said Karen Worcester, executive director of Wreaths Across America.  “We are humbled that Wyckoff is
participating in our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach.”

The Wyckoff Area Garden Club has donated $400 to help reach the goal of 225 wreaths.
WAGC does not benefit financially from this effort.

Wreaths Across America is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization founded to continue and expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery.  The mission of WAA is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington, Pearl Harbor, Bunker Hill, Valley Forge, as well as at more than 1,000 veteran cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond.  The mission has expanded and the goal this year is to place 1.1 million wreaths across America.
